In this episode we discus our best of the year lists and review a few books. Just listening to Kris' drunken degeneration throughout this episode is worth the listen alone. His rants finally end with, "Merry Christmas and now I have to puke". We all drank so much Merry Festivus Tequila that I don't remember which books we read and reviewed, but through the fog I can say we didn't like them very much.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Everyone at the Comic Couch.
On this week's episode we review The Invincible Iron Man #8, X-men: KingBreaker #1 of 4, Hellblazer #250, and The Mighty Avengers #20. In addition to our usual discussions we also talk about the evil and hubris of John Byrne, the latest Wolverine Trailer, and a listener who hates Denny.
An all Marvel week? How did Dennis let this happen? Listen and find out which of this weeks disappointments was his pick. Seriously though we do review The Wizard of OZ #1, Wolverine:Flies to a Spider 1-Shot, Dark Reign 1-Shot, and What If? Fallen Son. Most of these books were just not good and one featured Namor, The Sub-fuckin'-Mariner, King of Atlantis played this week by a strung out Scottish gay porn actor/stripper who just entered rehab because his mum told him that she is ashamed of him. Guess which book that is.
This week marks the ending of Marvel's Secret Invasion Crossover and we have a big hullabaloo wrap up discussion about our opinions on the whole shebang. Plus Joe is back from his overseas surgery and lets us know how everything turned inside out. Also we review Jungle Girl Season 2 Issue #2, Kull#2, and New Avengers #22. Long form episode with many arguments and laughs! Just what you would expect from us......right?
If you already downloaded and listened to this Episode prior to 12/1 @ 12:20 pm try it again, after getting some audio tips from the listeners I re edited the show and posted a new much less distorted version.
Today we recorded at the Chelmsford Comic Book Show. We interviewed all of the other creators there and a guest or two. The audio is so-so on the show because some of the guests didn't believe me when I said that they had to hold the mic close. I did what I could to save what I could. If you don't make it to shows up here in the northeast, you might not know some of these local indy folks so definitely come and listen.

Creator Geoffry Mosse and I are proud to debut our comic book The Murder Road
at Larry's Wonderful World of Comics winter comic book show. Larry has
been very kind to both Geoff and I over the years and it's only right
that we make our newest project available for the first time here.
Come by and say hi. Be the first kid on your block to own a copy and help support our latest project.
Has it really been six months since we started the show? I know in podcasting terms that 6 months really isn't that long. Some of my favorite shows, Around Comics, Crankcast, 1Up Yours!, and Skeptic Guide, are into their 4th or 5th year. When I first suggested that we do a show of our own it was because I am am a huge fan and preacher of podcasting, and I thought it would be fun. Now we actually have people who listen regularly every week. It is strange and wonderful at the same time. We are having a blast and I personally look forward to every Wednesday to sit down with the guys and bullshit about comics. Thank you everyone who listens and could you do me one little favor, spread the word about podcasting, not just this show but all podcasting. It is a fun almost grass roots medium that deserves a LOT more attention.
Alrighty then enough shitting about, this week we review a buch of books that we all argue about, we take a call from Kris' wife, and we learn about the outcome of Joe's overseas surgery. All this and a whole lot more in this week's 6 month anniversary episode.
This week we discus morality in comics, nostalgia beer goggles, and why Denny is so biased towards any book with a mutant in it. Oh....and we review a bunch of new books, X-factor #37, Magog Special, Bad Planet #6 and, Thunderbolts #126.
In this weeks show e discuss Jonah Hex #36, Ultimatum #1, Patrick's Sexuality, Daredevil&Captain America, Sandman The Dream Hunters #1, and Sgt. Rock #1. We have a lot of fun talking about comics and fucking with each other, hopefully it comes across in the show.
