Last night the Best Buy near Times Square held “The Official Midnight Launch” for the new World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The event officially kicked off at 8p.m. The first person in line was “Pete” a student at the Stevens Institute of Technology. He had been in line since 12a.m Wednesday morning; a full 18 hours before the event began. One of the crowd members did give his phone number to one of the Blood Elves; but I doubt he will be getting a call. Mike Morhaime the president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, along with several members of the development were in attendance and were signing copies of Wrath of the Lich King for those who waited throughout the night. Geoff Keighley was the MC for the night and he helped invigorate the crowd. There was a dance contest, prizes, and a fans Q&A with vice president and co-founder Frank Pearce.
